Dr. Rebecca T. Ruck, Associate Vice President at Merck Research Laboratories, will share her experience in research, innovation, and leadership in chemistry, as well as her reflections on the role of women in science and advice for young researchers. She currently leads the Enabling Technologies group, driving cutting-edge projects in catalysis, photochemical processes, and biocatalysis applied to the pharmaceutical industry. Internationally recognized for her commitment to diversity and scientific excellence, Dr. Ruck will offer an inspiring perspective on research, scientific careers, and the future of chemistry.

The thesis has been supervised by Dr. Xavier Rovira and Dr. Xavier Gómez.

On Wednesday, December 17th at 9:30 a.m., in the Eduard Fontserè Graduate Hall of the Faculty of Physics, our colleague Ramona Santini will defend her doctoral thesis entitled “Advanced synthetic strategies to control pharmacological action using ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light”. The thesis has been supervised by Dr. Pau Gorostiza.
